About the Artist

In my thirty years as a professional musician, I've had the opportunity to play with and hang out with a lot of great players, and to study with some great teachers. Ted Howe and Dr. Steven Hall are two teachers who had a lot of influence on me. While I was attending Berklee College in 1982, I also had the opportunity to study with Jerry Bergonzi, http://www.jerrybergonzi.com/.
In 1985, I went to the Banff Summer Jazz Workshop and had the opportunity to meet Dave Liebman,http://www.daveliebman.com/home.php  Don Thompson, http://www.myspace.com/donthompsonjazz  Kenny Wheeler,http://www.myspace.com/kennywheelerjazz and other great players in our field.
I've played at jazz festivals all over the South, with people like Pat LaBarbera, http://www.myspace.com/patlabarbera, David "Fathead" Newman, http://www.davidfatheadnewman.com/, Ben Riley, http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/musician.php?id=10700, and Mike Mainieri, http://www.mikemainieri.com/.
I was a member of Teddy Adams Quintet for several years in Savannah, GA, and we recorded a couple of CDs. Delbert Felix and Samarai Celestial were also in the band, along with Ron Pinder.
Currently I can be found playing solo piano, duos with bassist Mike Holstein http://www.callthatjazz.com/holstein.html , Ron Brendle, http://www.ronbrendle.com/bio.html, and other great local players.
I also teach Jazz Piano at Furman University here in Greenville, SC.
