Keith Davis has established a distinguished reputation as a jazz pianist, composer, and educator during his 25 years as a professional musician.
Keith has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Artie Shaw Orchestra, with Matt “Guitar” Murphy ( Blues Brothers ), and was a member of the Teddy Adams Quintet, which led to the recording of two CDs. He has also performed such great musicians as David “Fathead” Newman, Ben Riley, Mike Mainieri, Pat LaBarbera, and Frank Foster.
Keith has been featured at the Savannah Jazz Festival, the Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, and others. He served on the faculty of the Brevard College Summer Jazz Workshop, with guest artists including Conrad Herwig, Byron Stripling, Ronnie Cuber, and Wycliffe Gordon.
Keith has studied with respected Atlanta jazz instructor, Ted Howe, as well as with classical pianist Steve Hall. He also attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied privately with renowned saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi.
Keith’s participation in the Banff Summer Jazz Workshop in Canada included intensive study with such faculty members as Dave Liebman, Dave Holland, John Abercrombie, Don Thompson, and Cecil Taylor.
Currently, Keith performs regularly not only as a piano soloist, but also in a duo and trio, with bassist Mike Holstein, and drummer Sonny Thornton, respectively. He also teaches a full roster of private students, as well as conducting workshops on Jazz Improvisation.
A newly released solo CD will soon be followed by two new CDs, now in production.
